Dear all,
We’ve got a request… from someone at Arm! 😁
I guess there must be some boards available internally (maybe accessible remotely to employees?)… Mark, do you know?
Thanks!

Dear all,
We have a new request for a Morello board, from a start-up who wants to develop human interfaces for building control - they work on edge devices that collects data and control devices, integrating AI at the edge. They work on a pilot with Raspberry Pi but would want to co-develop on CHERI to make sure that the production would be using CHERI chips.
I have sent you a poll invite… Could you please vote whether you agree / disagree on the loan of a Morello board?
Thanks!

Dear all,
We have a new request coming from a professor at Middlesex University, which adds to the one we already have from another professor at the same university… So I’ve asked them to talk together but it looks like these are 2 different use cases.
The first one (for 2 boards) is still pending a discussion with Carl (but with his new role, I guess he will have even less time to do this), but we’ve got new info:
I ordered two ARM Morello Boards to do some work on building a Capability-Based Operating System. This is work we are doing with my former PhD student, Dr Gayathri Karthick, and Professor Jon Crowcroft from the University of Cambridge. See: Building an intelligent edge environment to provide essential services for smart cities G Karthick, G Mapp, J Crowcroft Proceedings of the 18th Workshop on Mobility in the Evolving Internet … Developing a Secure Service Ecosystem to Implement the Intelligent Edge Environment for Smart Cities G Karthick, G Mapp Future Internet 16 (9), 317 Kind regards Glenford
The second request is new:
Demonstrations into FreeBSD systems for my Systems and Architecture classes
I thought this could be nice for research projects (most of my project students are building software for various x86 or ARM boards). Additionally, I am teaching architecture and digital electronics and would be interested in showcasing some of this as well when introducing operating systems (such as freebsd, netbsd and other unix distributions).
Would you please give me some feedback so that we can close those cases?
Thanks!
